Mental Health and Addictions
"A community of resources utilizing the diverse
knowledge and perspective of all stakeholders to
support individuals and families living with mental illness and addiction."
Mental Health and Addictions Network Communications Workgroup
Mental Health and Addictions is one of the planning priorities of Central LHIN's Integrated Health Service Plan 2010-2013. One of the goals of the Mental Health and Addictions Action Plan is to improve access to information on mental health and addictions, and available services.
This area of the Central LHIN website, developed by the Central LHIN Mental Health and Addictions Network, and the Consumer/Survivor Network supports that goal and is intended solely for use as a reference and resource for anyone looking to find out more about mental health and addictions services and initiatives in Central LHIN.
Mental Health and Addiction Training Project 2008-2009 - new!
The Mental Health and Addiction Training Project 2008-2009 Final Report is an overview of the Central LHIN Mental Health and Addiction Education Work Group’s Stigma Training Project, along with their findings and recommendations.
A survey established that focused workshops on the impact of stigma need to be targeted at emergency department employees, Ontario works and Ontario Support Disability Program staff. This project demonstrates the impact education and awareness building can have on an individual’s knowledge, understanding and interest in making a difference.
